Charities

Many of our concerts are in aid of local and national charities as part of their fundraising activities. Why not contact us to see if your favourite charity could benefit from one of our concerts? The essence of this partnership is that your supporters organise the event and sell the tickets to raise money for your special cause.

During the past 10 years the choir has helped the following charities:

  • Hearing Dogs for the Deaf was one of our first charities. They train dogs to alert deaf people to specific sounds, whether in the home, workplace or in public buildings.
  • Bristol Oncology Centre. In 2000, we donated £1000.
  • Children's Hospice South West provide respite and terminal care for life-limited and life-threatened children. They also support the whole family through bereavement and beyond. In 2001, we donated £1500.
  • St. Peter's Hospice is Bristol's hospice caring for local people with incurable cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. In 2002, we donated £1005.
  • The Motor Neurone Disease Association works closely with local statutory services and community care providers to provide support and advice to people with Motor Neurone Disease and their families. In 2003 we donated £1000.
  • Over the years, we have raised funds for Amnesty International and Arthritis Care, as well as churches and small charitable organisations.

Charity for 2007: Bristol MusicSpace

Annually, we also nominate a charity to which we donate the proceeds from our own concerts and events. For 2007, we are very happy to support Bristol MusicSpace. Bristol MusicSpace provides a valuable community-based music therapy service for children and adults in Bristol and its surounding areas.
